Our experience

In Benoni we established our second Pre-School (ECD) in 2017 with two qualified ECD Teachers and Learner Teachers.. In Centurion West, we have three qualified ECD teachers: One teacher with an Early Childhood Development class (since 2010), another class for slow learners (since 2012) on the same premises where qualified Care Workers who take care of some forty special needs children.

Teacher: Learner Ratio’s

We make use of ECD qualified teachers and assistants so that the ratio remains less than 1:15. Teachers will move with children from one grade to the next. This builds relationships and keeps teachers accountable for the development of children in their class over an extended period.

Developmental milestones that we assess

At Jacobs Well Pre-School we do not only care for your child as we would for our own, but we continuously assess their development progress:

 Physical development

 Motor skills

 Cognitive development

 Social interactive skills

 Language proficiency

Occupational therapy

We incorporate some occupational therapy in a playful manner into everyday activities e.g. swings outside, riding on a board, hammock swing and other activities. 7

Farming activities

Children need to interact with nature from an early age. We envisage a vegetable patch with some chickens and perhaps bunnies to provide for this.
