Funded by government, our pottery studio at Jacobs Well is manned by a qualified artist who teaches pottery to our beneficiaries and volunteers. Objects are sold as part of self-sustainability.
Objects made by the children are given to the parents at the end of term.
These become keepsakes, something precious created by their special needs children, who do not have the abilities to create like other children of the same age.
Mandela Days are highlights at Jacobs Well when visitors participate in helping the children in a hands-on manner to make pottery creations. Jacobs Well has its own adult soccer team made up of men from the surrounding communities, who play with our children and also
against other teams, especially on Mandela Day.
